At Invicium, our daily operations usually revolve around solving complex marketing logistics, managing print portfolios, and assisting with brand rollouts for our clients. We pride ourselves on being a dedicated partner behind the scenes, keeping the wheels turning for businesses across Australia.
But once a year, we sit down at a table where the conversation shifts from commercial strategy to something far more vital: saving lives.
For us, it is an absolute honor to have a seat at their table and play a small role in supporting a cause that impacts so many Australian families.
The Vital Mission of the Australian Prostate Centre
To understand why this partnership means so much to us, you only have to look at the groundbreaking work the APC does every single day. Born from a powerful alliance with the E.J. Whitten Foundation, the APC has a singular, transparent mission: to protect the legends in our lives, and work towards a day when no Australian man dies of prostate cancer.
The organisation raises vital funds to support world-class research, state-of-the-art medical equipment, specialised patient care, and essential community education programs. They are dedicated to making sure men have access to the best possible treatment facilities while aggressively funding the science needed to defeat this disease.
What the APC Says About Working With Us:
“Invicium has been a reliable partner in helping us deliver our campaigns. They understand our brand and consistently produce quality materials that reflect the professionalism of our organisation.”
A Crucial Health Reminder: Breaking the Silence Around Men’s Health
Beyond the fundraising, a core part of the Australian Prostate Centre’s mission is raising men’s health awareness in Australia.
Statistically, prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men. Yet research has taught us that one of the greatest barriers to early detection isn’t medical but psychological. To put it plainly: men traditionally do not like to talk about their health.
Whether it is out of discomfort, a false sense of invincibility, or simply avoiding an awkward conversation, many men put off routine checks until it is too late. But the message from the APC is that talking about prostate health shouldn’t be a taboo subject.
If you are a son, a daughter, a partner, or a friend, we encourage you to prompt this conversation with the men in your life. If you are a man reading this, please take note of these simple guidelines:
- Know Your Risk: If you have a family history of prostate cancer, your risk is higher.
- Age 40–45: Speak to your GP about your baseline risk if you have a family history of the disease.
- Age 50–69: Routine prostate health checks in the form of a simple blood test are recommended every two years for men in this age bracket with average risk.
- Be Proactive: Do not wait for symptoms to appear, as early-stage prostate cancer often presents no symptoms at all.
Starting the conversation today can quite literally lead to life-saving health outcomes tomorrow.
The Power of a Community: The Legends Game & Venue Fundraisers
The centerpiece of the APC’s yearly awareness drive is a major cultural milestone for football fans: the Legends Game (the Four’N Twenty Legends Game for Prostate Cancer). This iconic night brings together past AFL legends for a Victoria v All Stars game. With special appearances and media personalities, together with thousands of fans the Legends Game raises over $1 million annually for the cause.
But the impact extends beyond the footy ground. Further fundraising happens at the grassroots level, and that is where the incredible network of hospitality venues and Thirsty Camel fundraisers come into play.
Across the country, local venues utilise their counter spaces and point-of-sale areas to run independent fundraisers. Sporting and social clubs run raffles and giveaways to raise funds and awareness; grassroots community doing what it does best.
Bringing the Message to Life: This Year’s Merchandise
The engine that helps power these venue fundraisers is the apparel and merchandise that patrons can buy and wear to show their solidarity.
Each year, the Invicium creative and sourcing teams collaborate closely with the APC to explore fresh designs, select high-quality materials, and produce items that people are genuinely proud to display. It’s a rewarding creative process where our goal is simply to make the charity’s vision shine as brightly as possible.
Seeing these items transition from an initial brainstorming session in our boardroom to the front counters of Thirsty Camel outlets and clubs nationwide is a deeply rewarding experience for our team.
What the APC Says About Working With Us:
“Their support has helped us create a consistent brand presence across our community engagement and fundraising activities, which is important when we’re connecting with the public.”
A Valued Network
At Invicium, we are incredibly grateful to the team at the Australian Prostate Centre for their tireless dedication to their mission to help men survive prostate cancer, and for allowing us to support their journey. We also want to extend our deepest appreciation to the venue owners, staff, and everyday patrons who buy the merch, start the conversations, and donate to this vital cause.
Together, we can ensure the legends in our lives stay around for a very long time.
