Did you know?

  • Approximately 4 million Australians are affected by mental health issues each year.
  • Anyone can develop a mental health disorder. Mental health issues affect people from all walks of life.
  • Around 45% of Australians between the ages of 16 and 85 will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime.
  • An estimated 800,000 Australians are living with severe mental illness at any one time.
  • Indigenous Australians are around twice as likely to be affected by high levels of psychological distress compared to non-Indigenous Australians.
  • The causes of mental health issues are complex, influenced by a combination of genetic, neurological, developmental, environmental, socio-economic, cultural, life experience and other factors.

Better understanding and treatments of mental health conditions is an important area of research and development we can all benefit from.

SANE is on the forefront of this important work. It contributes to national advocacy, reduction of stigma and discrimination, and raises awareness of the lived experiences of those affected by complex mental health issues.

Do you or someone you know need mental health support?

Helping SANE make a difference

SANE reached out to us for assistance with printed materials and merchandise needs. We met with them to gain an understanding of their organisation, and to show them the options we had available for merchandise and marketing fulfilment.

Raising awareness of the organisation, and targeting brand recognition to people who may need their services, and to the wider public, is an ongoing goal. With this in mind, SANE has been able to work with us to strategically produce printed merchandise for various events, functions, and office needs.

We have produced pull-up banners, menus, place cards, and table gifts for SANE events, T-shirts and lanyards for staff office wear, and giveaways such as cooling towels at fun-run events. This consistent and strategic merchandise placement ensures the SANE logo is visible in meaningful and memorable ways.

In order to save valuable time for staff and volunteers, Invicum has taken on the collation and postage of Information Packs. We hold their printed materials in stock, and when a request comes for a new pack to be sent out, we can collate and send it directly to the individual, without any SANE staff labour involved.

Mental Health Check-In

How’s your mental health? Your mental wellbeing is as important as physical fitness. Implementing some simple routines into daily life can go a long way to looking after your own mental health and can help you keep track of when you may be experiencing difficulties.

Daily Habit Building

  1. Connecting with others. Maintaining meaningful friendships and family relationships is important for a sense of belonging and wellbeing. Being intentional about connecting with the people who mean the most to you is a great way to boost your mental health.
  2. Prioritising sleep. A better outlook on the day can begin the night before. Switching off digital devices an hour before bed, having a shower, or reading a book can help your body and mind get a better night’s sleep.
  3. Practising gratitude. Reflecting on all the things you are grateful for can result in a healthier mental outlook. Jotting in a journal or speaking the things you are grateful for out loud can enhance the benefits of this daily practice.

If you’re struggling with your mental health, consider reaching out for help. Speaking to someone you trust or making an appointment with your GP are great first steps. You can also seek help from SANE, or other organisations such as Beyond Blue, The Black Dog Institute, and Lifeline.
