Meet Jim
Jim began his new business, Cormie, to service a growing need in the community. In recent times, age-based and disability care has shifted away from institutions in favour of people receiving care in their own homes. Products and services in the sector are becoming more tailored to individuals within a residential setting.
This has been a welcome change, as individuals can live in their own homes receiving care for longer, the surrounding communities benefit from the valuable contribution of elderly people and people with disabilities, and businesses like Jim’s are launched to cater to a growing market.
Identifying a gap
With a background in medical supplies, Jim saw the need for people to receive incontinence products in a timely and reliable manner to their own homes, and launched Cormie to do just that. Originally catering to Adelaide customers, Cormie has developed a unique product designed for convenience, confidence, and hygiene.
When it came time to expand the business to Melbourne, Jim knew he needed local assistance to ensure that Melbourne deliveries would be as accurate, timely, and reliable as the Adelaide orders. That’s when he called us.
Logistical Pain-Points of Product-Based Business
If your product-based business is experiencing growing pains as you scale, it is likely to be in one of the following areas:
Inventory Management and Storage
Efficiently managing and storing a diverse range of products can be complex and costly. You need to track inventory levels, reduce storage costs, and prevent stockouts or overstock issues.
Fulfilment Speed and Accuracy
Customers expect fast and accurate deliveries. Mistakes in picking, packing, or shipping can instantly turn your customer’s experience from fab to frustrated.
Cost Management
Balancing delivery speed and cost can feel like walking a tightrope. You want to keep your shipping affordable without sacrificing the speed that keeps your customers smiling.
Logistics Coordination
Juggling multiple logistics providers, warehouses, and transportation modes can be intricate and time-consuming. Effective logistics management can help everything run smoothly.
Customisation and Packaging
The packaging dream is to create a system that is time- and cost-effective for you, while providing a memorable unboxing experience for your customers.
Customer Satisfaction and Returns
Keeping your customers happy is your top priority, and managing returns is a part of that. A customer-friendly returns system helps preserve the relationship, keeping customers fans of your brand even if they need to return an item.
The brief
Jim asked us for help, not only with warehousing his products, but with devising a plan to successfully expand into the Melbourne marketplace. A large part of Jim’s business model is around product deliveries. In order to stay competitive, and to serve his customers respectfully, Jim needs product deliveries to be fast, reliable, and flexible.
Invicium services for Cormie:
- Demographic mapping
- Inventory managing
- Pick-and-pack service
- Daily deliveries direct to customers
- Order-to-customer timeframe of 48 hours
But it’s not just these services we are providing to Jim and the Cormie brand. For small and medium businesses, a good reputation is essential to earn, and crucial to keep. Word of mouth and good customer experiences keep a business growing and keep their good name intact.
When we partner with a small or medium business to deliver their products, we understand that we are delivering a lot more than that. We are also delivering on the promises they have made to their customers. And we take that to heart.
Invicium looks forward to a long and productive partnership with Cormie, assisting them to continue making inroads in the Melbourne marketplace.
