If you’re looking to get your club or business ready for the frost, you’ve probably realised there are more options than you first thought. But as many of us have learned the hard way, not all beanies are created equal.
At Invicium, we love helping our clients navigate these choices because we’ve seen what happens when the “easy online order” goes wrong. We’ve all been there:
- The “Plastic Bag” Feel: You order what looks like a cozy knit, but you receive a scratchy, synthetic product that feels more like wearing a plastic bag than a warm hat.
- The Colour Surprise: The “Royal Blue” on your screen arrives as a faded purple, and suddenly your team doesn’t look like a team anymore.
- The Ghost Support: Something goes wrong—the order is late, or the embroidery is crooked—and you’re stuck talking to a chatbot or an unmonitored “no-reply” email address.
We do things differently. We believe that even the humble beanie deserves meticulous attention. When you work with Invicium, you’re partnering with an expert.
Even if you’re just doing a small one-off order for your local club, you get a dedicated Account Manager. That’s a real person you can call to discuss yarn weights, colour matching, and delivery timelines. We make sure the product in the box is exactly what you envisioned; high-quality, comfortable, and delivered on time. And at a price that’s surprisingly comparable to those big factory websites.
Knitted or Embroidered? Finding The Right Style
When you start looking at custom headwear, you’ll usually land on two main ways to show off your logo. Both look great, but they offer a different feel.
The Custom Knitted Beanie
This is where your logo or club name is actually woven into the fabric itself as the beanie is being made.
- Why people love them: They have a great “retail” feel. Think of the beanies you see in surf shops or high-end sports stores.
- Best for: Bold designs and big, clear text. Because the design is part of the knit, it feels soft and seamless.
The Classic Embroidered Beanie
This is the tried-and-true method where your logo is stitched into the front of a pre-made beanie.
- Why people love them: It’s crisp and professional. If you have a logo with lots of fine detail or specific corporate colours, embroidery is the way to go.
- Best for: Corporate teams and uniforms where you want that sharp, polished finish on the cuff.
All the Trimmings: Poms, Cuffs, and Colours
Once you’ve decided on your branding style, it’s time to pick the canvas. A beanie isn’t just a one-size-fits-all product; the material and shape change how it feels to wear and how your brand is perceived.
Here are the most popular styles we can customise for you:
- The Classic Acrylic Cuff Beanie: The old faithful. It’s warm, stretchy, and the roll-up cuff provides a perfect, flat surface for a crisp embroidered logo.
- The Pom-Pom Beanie: A favorite for sporting clubs. We can coordinate the pom-pom colours with your team’s palette to create a standout look for the sidelines.
- The Modern Skull Beanie (No Cuff): Often called a toque, this is a streamlined, snug-fitting style. It’s a popular choice for tradespeople who need something low-profile that can sit comfortably under a hard hat or hoodie.
- The Heathered Knit: For a more retail or sophisticated look, we use heathered yarns (where different tones are spun together). This creates a textured, speckled effect that looks great in a corporate gift pack.
- The Cable Knit: This is a premium, chunky weave that screams winter comfort. It’s thicker and more traditional, making it a fantastic high-value gift for clients or long-term staff.
- The Polar Fleece: If performance and warmth are the priority (think early morning site visits or alpine events), polar fleece is lightweight, incredibly warm, and quick-drying.
Not sure which one to pick? That’s what we’re here for. We can send you samples of these different textures so you can feel the quality for yourself before we start the branding process.
Beanies in the Wild
Check out some of the beanies we have created recently
Pascoe Vale Panthers
We love the clever use of colour in these beanies for The Woods Point Hotel. Using the same colour in a lighter tint for the narrower strip elevates the design to a classy look. The embroidered name on the front looks crisp against the dark grey cuff. Perfect for both staff and patrons, these beanies practically invite you in for a pint.
Halcyon Knights
These icy blue beanies for Halcyon Knights Recruitment promise to keep chill winds at bay. The branding is bold, yet the design lends these beanies to be worn everywhere, not just at work functions. And those pom-poms that look like snowballs just waiting to be plucked off and tossed—perfection!
Woods Point Hotel

A “SANE
he simplicity of the design choices speaks for itself in these beanies we did for SANE. A modern, sleeker look without a pom-pom, but the cosier feel of an upturned cuff, these beanies make the logo the star of the show. We have been proud to partner with SANE Australia, an organisation who does integral work for people with complex mental health and their families, for many years.
