Building a Business That Puts People First

Why Invicium's Flexible Work Policy Is Good for Both Our Team and Our Clients.

In the traditional business world, a company’s success is often measured by its bottom line. But at Invicium, we’ve always believed that our true value comes from something else entirely: our people.

For us, being a partner isn’t just a promise we make to our clients, but a commitment we extend to our own team. We’re a family business, and that spirit of support and care defines everything we do, which is why we have built a business that prioritises flexibility, supports families, and recognises that the best employees are those who lead balanced lives. And it turns out that the commitment to being a good employer strengthens our business and benefits our customers too. Who doesn’t love a win-win-win situation?

The Modern Workplace: Beyond the 9-to-5

The idea of a rigid 9-to-5 workday is becoming a thing of the past. Today’s workforce, especially here in Australia, values a company that understands that life happens. People are looking for workplaces that offer more than just a job; they want a career that fits into their life, not the other way around. This is particularly true for parents navigating the complex demands of family and professional growth.

A forward-thinking approach to work isn’t just an act of kindness, it’s a strategic move. By creating a supportive environment, we attract and retain top talent. And when our team is happy, valued, and focused, they deliver an unmatched level of service to our clients.

A Personal Look Inside Invicium’s Values

We could talk about our values all day, but the best way to understand them is to hear from our team. We’re proud to share the stories of two of our valued team members.

Samantha’s Story

“When I went on maternity leave to welcome my beautiful baby girl, I wasn’t just leaving a job; I was stepping away from a team that felt like family. At Invicium, we knew that my role as Operations & Marketing Manager was integral, but instead of trying to replace me, the team came together to divide my responsibilities. This ensured everything ran smoothly, with me still able to provide support as needed. This was the first sign of Invicium’s trust and support.

My conversation about returning to work was equally flexible. I knew I didn’t want to return to a full-time, rigid schedule; I wanted to be at home with my daughter, Lola, as much as possible. Together with Simon, we decided the best path forward was for me to transition to the Marketing Manager role, allowing me to return on a part-time basis.

I began my new role in June, and I am so grateful for the flexible hours. I have the freedom to work from home, opening my laptop or responding to emails whenever I have a chance. I typically spend a few hours in the office once a week, but the rest of my time is spent at home where I can be most productive. I have seen first-hand that Invicium has a company culture built on trust and empowerment. I am extremely fortunate to be trusted by leadership to manage my role on my own terms. This trust translates directly into my work and my commitment to our clients. When a company truly supports you, you are able to give back with unwavering dedication and loyalty.”

Mel’s Story

After the birth of my second child, Willow, I knew that the unpredictability of my previous career’s shift work was no longer sustainable. I was seeking a role that would allow me to be both a dedicated mother and a committed professional. My friend, Jade, told me a position at Invicium had become available, and that they supported flexible working hours; it was clear this was the right move for my family and me.

I was excited to start my journey with Invicium, and I came back from maternity leave on a part-time basis. The team was more than accommodating. They worked with me to build a schedule that was tailored to my family’s needs, giving me half-days on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a full day off on Fridays. This wasn’t just about reducing my hours, but about creating a structure that allowed me to succeed in both my work and parenting roles.

This level of support and understanding is what makes Invicium different. They are a great team of people to work with, led by a considerate management who help me to thrive in my job.
